Thomas-Greenfield wrote on her X social network on Sunday night about the lack of aid delivery to Gaza but failed short of criticizing the Zionist regime for hampering humanitarian assistance to the Palestinians in the besieged territory.
In her post, she simply mentioned that the UN Security Council this week asked Israel to "keep the border crossings open in order to facilitate the delivery to meet humanitarian needs, and to ensure the fast and safe delivery of aid items."
Greenfield's claim comes at a time when the United States has repeatedly vetoed Security Council resolutions to establish a ceasefire in Gaza and has backed the Zionist regime with financial and military aid to continue its genocidal war on Gaza.
Responding to international bodies, the Security Council in a statement this week expressed concern about the conditions of the people in Gaza who have been facing acute food insecurity, and called on Israel to adhere to humanitarian laws and provide the necessary conditions to send them humanitarian aid.
Israel has, so far, defied calls from the UN and international rights bodies and even a recent verdict by the International Court of Justice that asked the regime to take immediate and effective steps to ensure the provision of humanitarian assistance to civilians in Gaza.
